Over the years I have restored many old church windows, some with painted windows, some not painted . Early in my career I worked for a company that was founded in 1905 that exclusively made and restored church windows all over Toronto and the surrounding area. I was employed there for two years and did many restorations with my co-worker, an Irish man, that had spent most of his life restoring windows first in Ireland and then in Canada at the studio I was employed with. I will forever be grateful to him for the knowledge and insight he gave me. Thanks Bob.
I just recently restored the three large front combination windows installed in 1875. The old wood mouldings holding the windows in were installed using hand made square nails made by a blacksmith. At the time there was no hydro and horse and buggy was the best ride in town.
